True, you are the type of personality who it does not affect.
And there are certainly people out there who can "responsibly" use cocaine for years - though if I understand properly, it's mostly the bulk powder. The concentrated stuff is scary. It still doesn't mean that it's a good idea, and for every one person who can use it and not have it greatly impact their life, there are a ton of people who it really screws up.
I know I found myself checking my phome for no reason when I had one. Cocaine? No...not really but at smart phone use does lead to depression and wasted hours....as does cocaine.
About a year ago, I went through and removed all my "oooh, I have 15 seconds..." apps. Stuff like checking adsense earnings, quick game levels, etc. I felt that it was not improving my life or ability to concentrate. Always distracted, never bored. Out of boredom comes great things.
Not sure about you but dont you find the fact everyone being tied to their phone a little disturbing and over the top these days?
Huh? What? Oh, sorry, were you saying something? I was... uh, texts... someone pinged me on Facebook to say Happy Birthday... huh?
Its true that make many tasks easier to do but is that necessarily a good thing? I can track my business miles or find the nearest McDonalds just fine without them ;) Its making the world into a bunch of non thinking idiots IMO
I actually stopped using my phone as much for navigation because I had more or less lost my ability to navigate without it. I'll look up the maps now, and maybe write down directions, but I've tried to stop relying so heavily on my phone GPS for getting around. Not being able to find my way home without a phone is not cool.
