I have a shorter distance, but have biked to work in temps in the 20s below zero.


Any exposed skin sure gets cold, and any liquid freezes so my beard does get nasty... :)

Great article.. they could've resisted the urge to run the nose-cicle pic, though.  :-)

I too wonder why he doesn't wear a set of ski goggles or similar.  I use a balaclava and glasses in much warmer commutes.. makes a big difference to me.

Clothing is very individualized. I've tried balaclavas & ski goggles and find they just get me too sweaty and fog up, even when it was -40 F/C last year. Is Cincinnati even all that cold? We have plenty of folks who ride year-round on this forum who live well north of Cincinnati. What I don't understand is why he is riding a fat bike, but to each his own. It is certainly an impressive bike-to-work streak.
