Thank you AT&T
« on: June 18, 2014, 03:26:08 PM »
Was originally canceling cable early this year and buy a Roku 3. Poor AT&T Uverse salesman have been around our neighborhood everyday last month and asked me if i have Time Warner Cable, i said yes and no thanks coz im canceling, he kept asking please give me a chance.

Long story short, I switched to AT&T uverse with all the freebies he gave plus a $100 gift card to come in 6 weeks, it came today and bought a Roku 3 for $88 + tax, came out to be $97 total.

New friend AT&T bought me a free Roku, when it arrives ill cut the TV and keep the internet.

I still have $3 to spend...

Don't want to burst your bubble, and I hope I'm wrong, but check you didn't enter into a one year contract for your AT&T cable.

If not, yay for you. AT&T have made far too much money off of me over the years but not anymore!

Yes i am on a contract but as long as i keep their internet service for a year i can cancel, I have called them so many times the first week to make sure I didn't get make the wrong decision lol

I am actually deciding whether to totally cancel the TV or keep the basic channels and get the bundle package, as with the internet alone, it will be $65/month versus $19.99 with TV.

without TV i will be paying $71/mo for internet only,
with basic channels it will be $83/mo

With Time Warner, it will come out the same cost for internet, it's crazy how they trap us with all these bundles.

The "basic channels" they give you are those that you get free with an antenna.

Around here TW calls that "starter TV".  Heh.
