I have the opportunity to interact with a number of interns at our workplace. Most of the interaction revolves around Project Management, Career Guidance, and general management.
Recently I was able to offer a small group of interns the opportunity to have a 'financial discussion' if they we're interested. I was happy that they contacted me soon after to take me up on it!
Of course I mentioned MMM and I was able to share alot of information that I wished I had known before I got out of school.
I tried to stress the huge advantage they have if they can make smart financial choices early on in their career. All seemed very interested throughout our talk and there were many questions. Towards the end one was even asking about hypotheticals. They were clearly starting to parse things.
I enjoy helping young people technically, but its much more satisfying to at least challenge them to think about their finances.
