Rogers Cell Phone Users - You Need This!

My cell bill used to be $60/month. Crazy, I know! And not very mustachian.

Now I pay $14/month for no data, no caller id, no voicemail, and only 300 anytime minutes.

But I make TONS of long-distance calls, all the time! How? ROGERS ONE NUMBER. (It is FREE for Rogers Customers.)

It's like Skype, except that when you phone people, they see your real phone number as the person that is calling. If you're like me and your older relatives don't answer strange phone numbers, this can be a big help. You will need wi-fi to use Rogers One Number, but you can then call anywhere in Canada unlimitedly. It's pretty awesome!

I use it on my ipad, and can do it on my computer with a mic.

Anyways, hope that helps some Rogers customers out there. At the least, it can help you cut down on long distance!

Does that work with prepaid as well? If your 300 minutes are mostly in the evening, Rogers has a pretty sweet prepaid deal where you can top up with $100 cards that last for 365 days and then you pay 1 cent per minute after I think 7 pm and 39 cents per minute during the day. You can add on monthly text packages. I managed to cut my cell phone bill down from $60/month to ~$100/year with that and Yak long distance for calling my parents.

I have free local evening and weekend minutes, but Rogers one number is my go-to for long distance chats! I don't know if it works for prepaid phones, sorry. Worth asking about!
