Record low spending
« on: April 01, 2015, 07:57:16 PM »
In March we spent $1,477 total on everything, including interest on the mortgage, and prorated expenses for property taxes and insurance--a record low for us. This led to a record savings rate for us--even higher than in the months when we've had 3 paydays. We engaged in frivolous spending on eating out and some other stuff as well. This even includes some expenses for a business trip that we got reimbursed for. We eat really well, including vegetables and meat every day. We have a pretty nice house and have nice new cars. It feels nice to be able to live so cheaply and save all that money each month.

Sounds to me like you've reduced your spending while increasing your happiness.  Win-win

March was a good month for us too. We normally spend around $4,000/month, but only spent $3,300 in March.

That's super low, especially since it sounds like you felt you were living large!  Congratulations!  Very inspiring.
