Plumbing a Shower
« on: September 19, 2015, 08:27:14 PM »
Replaced the old, grungy and very leaky shower handle today. Started at 10:00 AM and just finished an hour ago, lots of starts and stops to figure things out, review youtube, try to comprehend the horrible instruction book Moen sends with their items.
Had to sweat the old brass gizmo off the copper pipes and replace it with the new one, learned more about soldering than I knew before. First try leaked, so had to do it again. Then, put the many various plastic bits together, on and off and on and off again as I interpreted that darned instruction guide. As near as I can tell, it doesn't leak now, and the shower works.

Congrats! Next time you might want to take a look at shark bite fittings and pre-soldered copper fittings.  They can make life much easier.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
