Doesn't seem too impressive, but then again I have been known to turn off the stovetop when the pasta is close to being done and just let the residual heat cook it the rest of the way. Also, I sometimes save the cooking water, let it return to room temperature, and then use it to water the garden. I figure the water has been infused with a bit more nutrients too.
So I won't knock you for this slight savings boast.
