After a few years of some major ups and downs professionally and financially for my spouse and me, we sat down for a budget and financial reality check only to find out we're still doing just fine. Phew!
We ran the numbers, and our retirement investments are just over $206,000. Turns out all those "take it from our paychecks and we won't miss it" decisions have kept us on excellent and solid footing. At 33 years old, I feel like it actually might be feasible to retire before 60. Our only debt is our house, which we owe $204k on, so it's also awesome to see our accounts outpace our mortgage.
Our jobs are now hopefully stable, and this year's plan is to finally save that coveted $10k for investing in Vanguard index funds.
Let's go!!!!
