Haven't checked in for awhile. However, we have continued to work on our future :)
31, male, married, 1 child, Physician Assistant in Orthopedics
Got a 5% raise last week (now up to 120k). Immediately bumped my 403b contribution from 2% to 8%. Company has a 100% match up to 2% of income. So, that puts me at 10% income going into retirement. Bonus this year should be 40-60k. Plan to put at least 10k of that into IRA. The remainder of that money will either go into paying off my car, or possibly just into the market until we are ready to purchase some land.
5 years from now when student loans are forgiven, I intend to begin teaching 1 class per week on the side. Throw all of that money into retirement as well.
Anyway, as said before, I don't intend on retiring early like most of you. I just want to have money waiting for me in retirement if I ever decide to. I know it isn't quite what everybody in here is doing, but it is a step in the right direction.
