Net Worth!
« on: April 04, 2016, 02:25:51 PM »
Just hit $97k net worth!  DW and I are both 28, have a soon to be 2 year old, and #2 is due in 5 weeks.
It won't stay that high due to some incoming bills, but it sure was nice to see on Mint!

So far, in March and April we have..
Reduced our mortgage + escrow from $650 to $309 (old house versus new house)
Paid off $29k in student loans (have 17k left...the 29k was the 6.55% interest rate), which moved student loan payments from $550 to $189
No credit card bill left

Good start to the year!

Congrats! I'm single and 33 and just a hair-shy of $58,000 today. I'm dying to hit six digits, probably a year from now!

Congrats!  We finally broke 70K and I am looking forward to that first 100K and the thereafter faster staching that everyone talks about.

This is great! Look at how awesome your life has become in the past five years - and think how much MORE incredible it will be in another five! Your family's future is so exciting!

It's been good so far!  We made a great move by selling our acreage and moving closer to my wife's work (still 20 miles away, but we are very, very rural compared to most on this site), which is also a block away from one of my offices that I am in 2 days a week.

I upped by 401k to 10%, which will start as of this April pay check
My wife has state pension, which is cool.

Just chipping away.  That net worth, as I said, will go down when we start getting bills for our house updates on the new property we purchased, but we will gain about 20k in equity just due to the increased value in the property (already factored in to previous net worth amount).  We haven't really done any MMM changes, just being more aware of our spending is all.
