my beautiful neighbourhood.. a free concert tonight
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:57:51 PM »
So, our little self governed city within a city is holding a regulation summer free concert every Friday night! So it's a picnic for dinner tonight,  and lots of entertainment for the whole family, friends, neighbors, and all included in my property taxes, so prepaid.

Gotta love summer events. Very Mustashian.

We have weekly summer concerts at the little park a few blocks from my house.  I can't wait for those to start at the end of the month!  They're free and we bring a picnic dinner, but I do end up getting an ice cream cone for the small one when we go.  :)

It's one of those things to factor into the economics of where you choose to live. Neighbours too!

We paid more for our place partly because of the schools, no commute, really safe and walkable/ bikeable (not easy in this town), new pool and park 1 block away, etc. Cheapest house in the best neighbourhood, as they say.

And the pool has now opened all week, until 9pm weekends!

Our home we bought five years ago came with a lot of trees and shrubs.  A lot to manage, but I am a bird feeder so I get lots of action at my feeder station.  The bonus being I have a free concert every day.  Especially this time of year.

Not particularly Mustachian given I drop about $100 a year on seed, but I consider it money well spent.
