* We don’t use the garbage disposal anymore (unplugged it!) and compost the vast majority of organic materials that pass through our home. We have significantly reduced our production of both landfill trash and recyclables. We take out our green bin maybe twice a year, and our blue and black bins can go out every two or three weeks rather than every week. We will extend those intervals in the new year.
