Moved into our $45k renovated house..

I just cooked our first meal in the new kitchen, and I'm sitting in my easy chair now.  Feels like a milestone to me!

I still have some minor tasks to complete but it's livable and I'm really happy with how it's turned out.  I've been chronicling our progress here:

Financials:  purchase price $35.5k, total renovation costs to date $9.3k.  This includes complete replumbing, gutting and complete remodel of kitchen and bathroom, refinishing oak floors, and a new metal roof.

I'm happy.  :-)

Just curious - where is it?  I think I read N Fl in the thread?  We used to live in Atlantic Beach, and loved the area.  Might be time to look at some fixer-uppers there!

JA, yes, Jacksonville.  The beaches won't have prices this low but I believe there are still bargains to be had here.  If I had more cash I would buy the house next to me; if it's still vacant next year I'll be thinking hard about it.

Cromacster, if you look at the link in the first post here, you'll see a thread with plenty of pictures.  :-)  I still need to take some kitchen shots, but I am waiting on thresholds from a friend, and I need to paint one more wall.  I will try to do some "staged" shots with clean floors and lights on and paint done eventually.

Thanks!  I hope your new purchase and remodel goes well; I will be following your progress with interest!  I credit you and Mr. MM for encouraging me to tackle some things I hadn't done before on this house (the plumbing, for example).
