Our journey has looked like this since our engagement:

Net Worth
2010: ($18,000) [Student Loans]
2011: $25,000 [Married]
2012: $41,000
2013: $62,000 [Graduated]
2014: $108,000 [DW Graduated]
2015: $172,000
2016: $222,000 [See Below]

So far in 2016, we've taken a big leap of faith in moving cross country for entry level work in a new industry, downsized our possessions to one car and whatever would fit in a tiny uhaul trailer, and actually increased our net worth by $50,000 while doing so. I'm really proud of what we've accomplished during these first 5 months, as well as over the rest of the journey. We left a lot behind to pursue vague dreams and the investment into our mental health has been invaluable. I thought for sure our savings would take a hit but walking to and from work, sharing a car, and flexing those frugal muscles in most aspects of life has proven successful.

Income*
2010: $33,000 + $2,000 = $35,000
2011: $43,000 + $5,000 = $48,000
2012: $45,000 + $8,000 = $53,000
2013: $42,000 + $15,000 = $67,000
2014: $48,000 + $29,000 = $77,000
2015: $53,000 + $55,000 = $108,000
2016: $48,000 + 52,000 = $100,000 [projected]

Our individual incomes aren't too special on their own, even together they aren't crazy high, but we make the most of them by sticking to a plan and using a monthly budget. Just a friendly reminder that what you make matters but it's really all about how much you keep. Not to discredit the blessing that is a six-figure income, but most people would require a much higher salary to near a quarter mil in their mid-20's. Grateful for all that we have and pushing forward to secure our family's future. Did I mention that I might become a Dad this year? :) That'd be a whole 'nother joy all together.

Me too!

We only have student loan debt left - to the tune of $80k - before we can start saving. I feel like we have so much catching up to do...

Its wonderful to see how well you two have done. :)
