Maxed 401k's, maxed HSA, now maxed Roths
« on: March 09, 2017, 03:04:36 PM »
Well I got a pretty decent bonus this year so naturally I decided we should invest that money in the freedom fund instead of being an idiot consumer. Things are really rolling now - my wife and I have both 401k's maxed, we get approx $9K through employer match, we've got my HSA maxed out and now 2 Roth's.

Total tax advantaged investments = ~$63K/year. Suck it, Uncle Sam!

We also shoot for around $4K spillover into our Vanguard brokerage on a monthly basis. Trying to hit a total investment goal of $100K this year, not bad for 32 years old!

Thanks! Great job! For some reason the hardest investing hurdle for me mentally was maxing the 401k. It was only a few more percent than we were already contributing but $18K just seemed like so much money! And what if I need it I can't access it til I'm old!

LOL
