I've been furiously trying to pay down our student loans. Started looking around and both of the financial institutions have automatic payment programs that if you sign up for reduce your interest amount by 0.25%. One lender said I didn't "qualify" because I had a better 'benefit' from when I signed up, but my husband successfully lowered his by 0.25%.
I know a lot of banks do this and it's definitely something to look into for student loans/mortgages/car loans/ETC.
