Kinda Sorta Semi-famous
« on: October 08, 2013, 05:34:56 PM »
Went with the kids to the park this afternoon.  While there, parents from two separate families told me, "We saw you guys riding your bikes while we were driving here!"  And another man said, "I see you all riding around town all the time!" I've never felt quite so much like a superhero.

I got that a lot from by bike commuting to work.

Cool that when you are on a bike, it's much less impersonal.  People can recognize you.

The sad part is that riding a bike is still seen as unique, even "super hero" like.  If only it were so commonplace everywhere that it was not seen as anything special.

Yep, but I'm pretty hopeful it will happen eventually.

I like the Bill Nye quote you're sporting.  We love him!

That's cool. One time my GF and I rode our bikes to a salmon run festival. This guy saw our helmets, asked us about or bike trip, and ended with "How very enterprising." We like to say that now when we see somebody do something cool, especially if it's not very enterprising.
