Awesome!! I'm right there with you! I'm going to be depositing 4,000$ into my RRSP today, which, coincidently, is more than the value of my car...

That's great!  I've had my car since 2006, and sometimes think about getting a new one.  But I know if I did, I would try to see how low I could keep the mileage on it by biking everywhere.  Since there's nothing wrong with my car, and I wouldn't drive the new one, I will just go ahead and not drive the one I already have!

Do what my friend did... she maintained her car well and keep it running until close to the 300K mark.  It got to the point where it was a "mission" for her and her local mechanic, not just a car.

Each time she brought it into service (at a cute local "old timey" station) she'd pull up front, toot toot on the horn, and all the staff would come out and give her wheels a standing ovation.

Great way to think about it, and very well done! Now remember that every new car needs accessories. And don't forget the boat to tow behind it :)

^^^^^Totally Awesome! This....this is my goal. 16 year old fuel efficient car with 160k miles. Half-way there ;)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
