Just hit 100k - but a long way to go!
« on: July 31, 2017, 02:36:54 AM »
Fairly chuffed that we just hit 100k in investments (outside property)!

Am 36 though as I was pretty late to the game, and want to FIRE by 55 so realise I am well behind as I will probably need about 1-1.5m (in today's numbers) to reach that goal.

Fingers crossed, nowhere else to share so thought I'd share here...: )

Congratulations! We hit the same milestone just a few years ago and now we are closing in on 200K -- it really is true that the first 100,000 is the hardest. Go get em!

Sweet! It takes time and dedication - well done! I hear it gets easier once you hit your first 100K:)

100,000 is the hardest, but just a warning, 200,000 is proving harder too. Until investment returns become a bigger piece of our net worth building puzzle it is a long slog, but well worth it! Congrats! see you in the racing to 250k thread!

Very nicely done! I remember hitting that number a couple years ago. Keep at it

Congrats.  I hit 100K in late 1999 and hit FI in 2013 despite a poor performing market during that time span.  Good luck!

Awesome job, keep up the good work! The first 100k seems the most difficult.
