My basement is full with stuff I got the past few couple days.
One of the GAP stores nearby is going out of business and they were going to trash their shelves ... Their solid wood shelves ... Standing wood cabinets with Glass shelves .. Tables and such ...
These are solid wood stuff and with an amazing style ... They look IKEA style but with much better quality .... I got 4-6 tables which I'll use in the house for coffee table ... Side table ... To do my cabinets and also media center.
I also got to keep 75 store full body mannequins !!
These things are 1500 bucks brand new!!
I figure I can probably sell on eBay for as little as 200 bucks which amounts to 15000 or so ...

It wasn't free, but last May I needed a new garage floor so I had to demo out 25 years of random cabinets packed with everything from Tiki Torch fluid to our family dogs cremains from 2000. Had to do a rough demo and none of the stuff was going to be repurposable. Put the new floor in and was trying to figure out just what shelving solution to go with. It was village garage sale weekend and my wife found some guy that "had some cabinets....but they were expensive" So I went down and saw some very high quality cabinets. I haggled for 3 or them for $400 and he would help me get them to my house.
When he is unloading he tells me he was allowed to demo out a medical laboratory equipment showroom that was closing down. Before he left, he said "go google this company and product and see what you just bought. I had lab spec medical cabinets with full pull out drawers that cost around $3 grand each. I put up pegboard on the wall and now my garage looks like an F1 garage. Every guy who walks through says "whoa!" when they see them.

Heres some pictures of what I got:

The tables ... The little IKEA style tables lacquered in white ...
The shelving from behind too ....

The rounded tables .... The closets on the back under the t-shirts ...
These things are solid ... Each one probably weighs 150 lbs easy ... Solid wood ... Also the racks ...
And my basement looks like a morgue ... A little creepy:

I love when stuff like this happens. I don't necessarily go out of my way, but I'm always on the lookout for free pickups like this. Well done, and you have a great place to store it. Oh, how I miss having a basement.

Wow! Very cool.

Super creepy, but way badass!! Way to hustle. Keep us posted on how much you make selling those mannequins!

Nice score. I had no idea that mannequins could be so valuable.
I love watching some of the dumpster diving channels on youtube, they have some nice finds.

I love the selves and also the modular white type of shelves (I dont know the name) they are super sturdy!!

Nice score!! If I were you, I'd hold onto a couple of the mannequins and use them to create a super-creepy Halloween yard installation!

these are the media center types i was talking about:

ideas to use these last 2/3 pieces are welcome...
i was thinking of either making a base for a modern looking bed ... to use it as a coffee table... to use it for cabinets on the kitchen when upright ... maybe around the fridge and inside making a wine bottle storage display type of thing...
these are my ideas so far...

Those mannequins look pretty fucking creepy in your basement, but definitely looks like you scored a pretty big one here. Good luck on selling this stuff...and figuring out how to ship those things. :)
