We haven't always had our financial shit together. We had some "30-59 day late" payments on an old and long-since-paid off mortgage.
I just checked credit karma and the last one just dropped off!
My rating jumped from 740 to 776.
Just had to brag. 7 years is a looooong time to wait out your credit blemishes.
Way to go! The 7 years thing is awful. I had to deal with some credit card from when I was 18 and had like $400 on that I forgot about and never paid. It went to a debt collector and I paid off $1300 to close it. That finally fell off of my report a few years ago. Young me was so foolish.
I'm currently at 747 and my only bad marks right now are "Too many hard inquiries" which is
5, ALL from when I bought my car and co-signed my Wife's car. WTF!? Also, it says my credit history is too young on average. 4 yrs 9 mo.
