posting a quick tip re: exfoliation…salux cloths are these slightly coarse, net-like cloths, about the size of a narrow scarf, and are incredibly useful for exfoliating in the shower (and also soaping up)

+ super easy to scrub your back (because they're long)
+ dries faster than a loofah
+ $5 or cheaper (check your local japantown/chinatown)
+ honestly don't think i'll ever need to replace mine

$5 for a lifetime of smooth skin! i gently scrub my legs with a soaped-up salux before and after shaving.

Thank you!  This may work better for me than the pumice, as I was worried that I was weakening some hairs using it, so they would break instead of pull out cleanly.  Also, this would make wash and epilate one step.

Yeah, thanks for the Salux tip. Ordered one on Amazon (free with Bing search rewards) and that thing is amazing! Super soft skin and makes shaving much easier.

I had to replace my Salux after about 4 years.  I would periodically wash it in the washing machine with my towels if it started to get moldy (usually at the binding seams around the edges).    So maybe I treated mine more roughly than others do.  But yeah, these clothes are awesome!

I'm not waxing it or plucking it myself these days!  I can barely even, um, see it.  Pregnant belly in full effect.  There are seasons in life when it is worth paying for this service.

Home made sugar wax for those who don't give a pluck for plucking:

1c sugar
2T water
2T lemon juice

Boil till reaches 250 degrees (soft ball stage on a candy thermometer) and cool.

To use, microwave 15 sec and apply as you would any typical wax treatments.  A flour sack (tea towel) cut into strips works well and are infinitely reusable by rinsing out or tossing in with the wash.  Adjust mcrowave time by volume left and experience like other home wax products.

Nearly zero cost and saves oodles of time.  Just did this over the weekend, now my prickly sticks are smoooove again since waxing gets every little hair that is hard to see when plucking.

And I suppose in the zombie apocalypse you could eat it.

You're my hero. I don't know if i have the guts to do this. I am in awe of your awesomeness. Do you have any tips for beginners with sensitive skin? This would save me so much time and razor burn.

Wouldn't shaving be faster than plucking and cheaper than waxing?

Razor burn and stubble. I shave, but it can come at a price. Doesn't look as good in a swimsuit. Just telling it like it is. This does depend on your skin type though, etc.

Epilator doesn't work on lady parts. If you are looking to wax at home the surgiwax Brazilian kit is amazing. You can buy it at Sally beauty supply or on Amazon.

I would disagree with the portion I bolded.
