I SOLD MY SUV!!

WOW! This is a huge moment for me. For the first time in almost 10 years, I do not own a car! I moved into NYC a little over a year ago and just today I officially sold my car for a reasonably good price. My DH still has a car but it is a Prius, which is must better on gas than the hulking SUV I had.

This may sound silly to anyone except those in this forum, but this is literally a dream come true for me!

Oh and in case you are wondering, the $ I received is going straight into my Vanguard Roth IRA.

Awesome!   I just think of wasted $, OPEC and oil wars and climate change every time i see big SUVs these days... 

You are indeed free!!   But now you also have permission to buy an electric car next time if needs change and warrant.  ;)

Great job!  I've just moved to a major city too and although I've made big changes regarding my vehicle (two leases at nearly $2,000/month to one single used car for $20,000) I do plan on going car-less soon!

Congrats!  I am wondering: What borough or neighborhood do you live in where you keep two cars? I cannot imagine!

That must of been a pain in the ass to drive around in that area. Congratulations! I remember when I got rid of ours and then our truck. I will be honest I will always miss the truck because nice having the ability to hauls stuff once in awhile BUT being newer the cost into it wasnt worth the little I used it.  Nice to get rid of all that big overpriced stuff!
