It's stories like this - recounting a money-saving, thoughtful way to achieve a common task like running errands- that are inspiring. And how lots of little things create even bigger inspiring stories over time.
I find myself tempted to envy -I know I shouldn't- co-workers who live a few blocks from work. (I have a 24 mile commute.)
They are also the ones who complain the most about the cost of things as they roll in using the SUVs they haven't finished paying for.
One family, that lives about four blocks from work and school, once owned a minivan that stopped running. They didn't have the cash to pay for another one right away so they all rode their bikes about town, causing a sensation. Other people were inspired to start riding their bikes again. But the family hated the attention. They felt poor. So the moment they could make a down payment on an SUV they did, and have been complaining about the cost of gas, etc. ever since.
Anyway, thanks for the story. Thanks for the sanity.
