Today I made a massive step forward, and put my money where my mouth is. I offered £240k for a house.
I know that sounds like a heck of a lot of money, but hear me out.......
Me and my fiance have been househunting for a while now. We have been looking around the edges of the nicest areas in our city. When we started househunting we had arranged a large mortgage and were looking at houses up to £350k. That was about the minimum needed to find a small (by American standards!) house in good order in the nicer areas.
So ....... we finally spotted a nice house in a slightly less nice area. I don't think 12 months ago I would have contemplated living in that location. But with the help of MMM and all you lovely forumites, I am being less blinkered now about location.
All I need now is for the vendor to accept.....
