Hi, just a quick bit of news to share with my like-minded internet strangers since in real life we don't really share these things with anyone:
I track my invested assets every month. I've been doing that since around 2013 when I first read "Your money or your life" and sometime around then discovered MMM. Looks like I had just over $100k invested in 2013. As of now (April 2024) we hit $1Million invested. I don't include my house value in this, but our Net Worth would have hit over $1Million a little while ago if I included the house value. But since our house doesn't provide us with income, and is really an expense, I choose not to track it much.
It's a slow but steady pace we are on, but it works for us. I only briefly worked "full-time" for 1-2 years. Otherwise, both my wife and I have been working part-time for many years so we are slowly coasting towards FIRE. We enjoy our jobs and get to spend plenty of time with our young kids and traveling with our flexible part-time jobs.
Anyway - it's nice to see our investments grow so much. It's been about 11 years of tracking. Our income in 2013 was around $50k/year. A couple years ago we finally started making over $100k combined, and now make around $120k/year between the two of us.
