Haven't Used Shaving Cream in Years

I'm not sure if this is pretty common, but i haven't paid for shaving cream for years. I just use shampoo or a good lather of soap while in the shower. I'm always clean shaven with no irritation. Just a little tip for those who pay $2-3 a can every few weeks.

Works for those with boyish beards, but not with thick, coarse manliness. ;)

I completely disagree...
In my 20's when I was in the Navy, I needed to shave twice a day.  My hair grows fast and its like a wire brush. 
I started shaving in the shower and found that the steam was enough to eliminate the need for shaving cream.  After 20+ years of not using it, I can wash my face and shave with just a razor.  Though the steam from the shower does make it better.

I'm with ya man. I switched to nothing but shower pressure on my face after a Navy dentist moved my cheek around and made it numb. I realized I get a similar sensation when I shower and the water hits my face, so if he could stab me with a needle without pain, a razor wouldn't be bad. I quickly figured out that a razor in the shower didn't hurt, so why waste money on accessories. More than a decade since then.

I don't understand how so many people have the time to use cream, soap, blades on the face, lotion etc in the morning? My electric razor takes ~2 min and I'm still in a hurry every morning! Sure, a safety razor looks cool, and a very close shave, but checked a youtube howto and it took him something like 8 min! Taking care of dog, myself and 2 kids in the morning I'm not sure how I'd have the time. Maybe when I FIRE..

I am allergic to all shaving creams that I have found.  Water only for me, I just shave in the shower.
