Haven't drank soda in 2 years!

Years but for the occasional gin & tonic. Except -- had flat leftover bottle of Dr. Brown's black cherry from some Jewishly-related get-together (my spouse's side of the family), and made a chocolate cake with it. Damn that cake was good. So I guess I "ate" part of a bottle of Dr. Browns, along with my friends at work who helped me devour it. Oh well, we all slip sometimes.

A few months ago I had a ginger ale because I was having stomach problems. Other than that the only time I drink soda is when I visit my parents or they come to visit me. Mom and I love Dr. Pepper and you will pry our treat from our cold, dead hands.

Cut it out of my diet otherwise.

It's been about a year since I last drank soda, back then I always drank diet. It actually stopped because I was sick with the flu and drank water entire time, I actually learned I liked drinking water and stuck with it. Last time I took a sip of it, it made my stomach hurt. Must not be use to it now but it never sounds good anymore. Water is 100x better!

Next January 1st will be 3 yrs for me.  Still drink some beer and too much coffee though.  But I'm thinking beer is more natural and better for you that sodas.

If you put some whiskey in your diet Coke it's really good for you.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Just make sure to stick with it moving forward. Personally, the last soda I had was over 32 years, with ZERO exceptions! Other "fluids" in this prohibited category of mine would include punch, "juice cocktails," energy drinks and the like. Never had a Red Bull, (or Monster energy, etc), probably never will.

My goto drink is water, followed by carbonated water (seltzer), milk, and coffee, with the occasional 100% as a treat.

Water is really the only fluid that is required for optimum health, though some coffee addicts may disagree.

I gave up drinking pop "straight" back in 2008.

Granted, in my college party years I'd easily down a 2 liter of Coke in a single night if I was mixing with rum. Very, very far from perfect abstinence.

These days I'll occasionally buy a twelve pack of Sprite/7up to mix with whiskey, but for the most part I either drink neat or rocks. I'm about a week into a month of sobriety right now, so it's all water and coffee for the time being.

I used to love Pepsi, and drink it almost daily. But after a couple years of thinking about giving up pop, I finally did on my 30th birthday. Haven't had any in almost 7 months! That's huge for me. It means I've also had to give up my rum and pepsi. :(

Pop is gross. Ew. I will VERY rarely have a sip or two of Boyfriend's vanilla vodka Coke, but otherwise I haven't had pop in... geez, 15 or 20 years?
