So I had been unemployed since May and my wife had been worse-than-unemployed (i.e.: she was a 1099, so no unemployment insurance) even longer, so we had built up some credit card debt. I finally started a new job two weeks ago, got paid (for 1 week) on Wednesday, and -- since my bills aren't due until after I get paid a second time -- I used the entire ~$1100 to make a large dent in said credit card debt.

Congrats!! I'm starting a new job tomorrow and really looking forward to the impact my first paycheck will have on my debt reduction. Cheers!

Congrats! It feels good, doesn't it? I felt like I was giving debt the finger every month when I sent off big payments.
