I stumbled on the map feature and made a template:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HteFXoLFbX0StRAXflAnoqKtv6qt2rj3FbZUL9QYtn0/edit?usp=sharing
You put in the size of your stash and it tells you where you can retire on 4% SWR. If you want to padd things, you can increase to a higher % of average household income in each country e.g. 125% or 150%.

The resolution is a little coarse but the template will be useful for comparing cities or states within a country as long as you can find reliable information on household income. Thank you for sharing.

I can assure you that most readers of this blog do NOT want to live at the standard of living of the average person in many, if not most, countries.

This is super cool! If I wanted to use this for my own nefarious purposes, could you explain how you did it / link me to where you found out how to?

Sure! There are two kinds:
Line map: https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/geochart
Satellite map, like the one used in the map of mustachians somewhere in the forum: https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/map

Super neat, it appears however that changing the percentage value in the yellow field does not affect the results.

Very nicely done!
Also confirms my assumption that the required stash for Germany would be around 800K USD or 750K EUR :-)

Thanks for sharing. I now have dreams of chilling on a beach in Mexico, living off part of my 'Stache while allowing the rest to grow and support my US retirement.

Right?! I foresee having to strongly fight the itch to do that in South East Asia when I get close to bare-bones FI (US) :-)
