We married last weekend. Both of us are 50 years + and have been together for 8 years so no blushing bride needing a fairytale wedding.
Total cost? $1512 (AU)
Venue $0. We live near the beach, waited another 2 years while our house was being built before setting a date. Reception at home, ceremony on the beach.
Invites went out via email, using a WORD doc $0.
Flowers gathered from the verge and friend's gardens were in jam jars with ribbon around the house. My Aunt and SIL had fun arranging them for us. Bouquet made by a friend at no cost.
Celebrant $250. A friend. This includes an official certificate.
Catering $1200 for 36 people. Included a waitress for 4 hours and a generous tip. We saved some leftovers for the next day. One guest said it was the best food she'd eaten at a wedding.
Alcohol and juice brought on special over a couple of months $200.
My dress was $15, brought at a popup charity shop market we stumbled across when on holidays. I found a fascinator at a Red Cross op shop for $5.
The groom wore pants he already owed, an op shop shirt at $7 and a new hat costing $15.
Wedding rings are silver, probably won't last too long but I don't like wearing one, so not so important to me. Cost $120.
Photography by my future SIL.
We asked guests not to bring gifts however, two couldn't help themselves so we received $300 in gift vouchers.
