Re: Fixed the oven

Convection fan stopped working on our 10 year old oven.  I did some quick research, and figured it was likely the motor burned out.

I took it apart and tested the motor by hooking it up to 120V.  Surprisingly it spun right up.  So I cleaned it up (plenty of soot from gas oven), reinstalled and it's magically working again.  Not sure how long I'll get out of it, but we'll see.

I did nothing that should have fixed it, but it's working.  I've had this experience many times where something like this is broken.  I take it apart, clean it, poke it, prod it, etc.  Put it all back together and it's working again.  I guess it could be a loose connection...

Anyone else fix stuff with this procedure and wonder what was wrong in the first place?

Weird, but good. Yeah must have been a loose or fouled up connection somewhere.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
