First Month's Ting bill: $26
« on: February 12, 2014, 10:48:40 AM »
A savings of $130/month over our previous plan.  This is for two phones.

Can you beat it? :)

First month was $45 for one phone.  I understand it's Sprint but i'm kind of disappointed with the coverage, to be honest.  Data is incredibly slow and I have poor reception and dropped calls in several areas.  It also seems like it doesn't cycle between voice coverage providers (roaming) very easily.

Edit:  Wanted to add that I am very pleased with the customer service and the price is fair.  However, I am considering switching to a Verizon prepaid plan if the coverage remains spotty.

I switched from the Virgin Mobile to Verizon Prepaid because the Sprint Network sucks where I live. I think there is a $50 plan now with 1gb data and unlimited text and talk.

I recently switched to $25/month with Republic Wireless, but $26 sounds pretty good too. Definitely something for folks to consider.
Cell phone service should not cost $100+/month!

Nor should it cost $300+ for a cellphone just to switch, only to be permanently locked into a single vendor on the handset with no real technical support and a terrible terms of service contract.

There are other Verizon MVNOs that are cheaper than Verizon Prepaid. Check the Superguide in the sigline.

Thanks IP, I looked into it, but I have an iPhone and I wasn't comfortable doing the workarounds.

Exactly the reason we didn't switch to Republic.  I like the concept, but Ting has a lot more flexibility.

I switched from Verizon (4 lines $270) to Ting and month one bill was $103 and month two was $126. Month three should be even cheaper since my employer installed wifi for us.

I switched to airvoice for my line and page plus for my mother in law. We went from $110 to $22 a month. However I only used $1.70 of the $10 I added at the beginning of the month.

I use an iphone and communicate mostly with others who use iPhones. I'm also always on a wifi network.
