Lost weight and shaved food budget switching to water
« on: July 02, 2015, 12:48:05 PM »
I used to drink about half a gallon or more of milk a day, sometimes up to a gallon and a half on weekend days. I found out that dairy is a trigger for my intestinal issues so I cut out milk almost completely. Cheese has to stay, being from Wisconsin and all. I did this a few months ago and have already gone back to my high school wrestling weight, mainly from my stomach and feel better. Additionally the food budget is probably down by at least $50 if not closer to $100 a month.

everyone should be doing this, drinking a lot of water.

its widely known that water keeps you full and eating less, but supposedly cold water speeds up your metabolism because your body heats up the water to the temperature of your body, not sure how much; but any help is help.

My girlfriend and I go through about 2 gallons of milk a week and we try to ration ourselves so that we don't run out before Sunday shopping day. Probably should try to drink less but it's so good. Luckily I don't have dairy problems.

That's very interesting. I always drink cold water because it's about 10,000 times more refreshing than the warm shit. Glad to know it's helping me too. My girlfriend always just fills up her water bottle with warm water whenever we go on bike rides or whatever. I cannot understand why she wouldn't trow a few ice cubes in there but she claims she doesn't care.

Nice job!  I've been a big proponent of drinking lots of water, especially cold water.  Also, I'm slightly lactose intolerant, but love cheese. :-)

Well, on the flip side I've heard that warm water will hydrate you faster for the same reason, since it doesn't need to be warmed up.

I'm just happy you kept the cheese! Spoken from another Wisconsonite.

Great stuff. I recently got my boyfriend to switch from fruit juice to Crystal Light, which I make for him from powder. It costs a lot less and obviously has fewer calories. He used to drink what looked like tons of fruit juice to me.

He hasn't lost any weight though, which makes me wonder if he's making up the calories somewhere else :-). He really doesn't have much to lose, and I won't care if he never does. But I know he wants to lose a few pounds.

Crystal Light has fake sugar in it which upsets your normal metabolic process. He was healthier drinking juice.
