Well, this month is finally the breakthrough we had been working unknowingly for last 3 years. We have an overdraft Home loan (mortgage) account which allows us to park money (which we can use at any point of time) and not pay interest on it. It would be useless if we had 3% interest rates but nope our interest rate is 9.55% today. So we decided we will equate the loan and in last 3 years while living not so frugally we managed to rid ourselves of the 10 year loan/interest without loosing our liquidity. Not just that we are still eligible for tax rebates on the principal we pay each month.

Till last month every extra penny was going in the loan account so yesterday when we finally got the first loan free salary we invested in our very first index fund. Now i have itching finger but have to remind myself that consistency will get me there!!!
