Did you know that you can request a 'silent hold'?
« on: January 27, 2025, 08:17:59 PM »
I was just on the phone with USAA bank.  They have really obnoxious hold music that is repetitive, far too upbeat, and features a chorus chanting the company name over and over.  I expressed my strong dislike of the "song" when the CS rep told me I'd have to hold for a bit, and she asked if I would prefer a 'silent hold'.  Yes Please!  I never knew this was a thing.  I'll be requesting this any time I have to call CS from now on.

Anyone else know about / use this?

This sounds like they muted their line.
I've done some support and assistance with a few different phone systems, and there was not any ability to have multiple areas to route a call to be placed on hold.

Just make sure you mute as well. Even if it is a regular hold, I would always recommend putting yourself on mute. The customer service rep won't be able to hear you on a regular hold, but the phone system can.

F***ing hello.  I read as far as the bolded and that stupid song, complete with the "USAA" chant, was instantly stuck in my head.  Damn.  Damn.

I was riding that ride and it broke down.  We were sitting there for 45 minutes, unmoving, with that damn song.  I legitimately started to feel unstable.  I was probably a couple minutes--or less-- away from climbing out of the boat and wading to the exit, bainishment from Disney be damned. They eventually turned it off, which was marginally better, but the click, click, click of the moving dolls wasn't great either.
