My estimates...

Distance to work one way: 1.5 miles
Days worked: all 65 business days
Total miles commuted: 195
Miles by bike or by foot: 18
Miles by bus or other (carpool): 15
Miles by personal vehicle: 0
Money saved:  $0, since I've never paid to commute anyway.  Money not spent? $54 at $0.30/mile.

Edit: money saved on parking downtown: $90/month so about $180.

I don't have exact stats for NJ so I'm going to estimate to get a starting point for the next quarter. I know how much we spent and our general MPG so it will be close to accurate.
I am so stinking excited about our new place in CO. We will be closer to everything and hubby's commute will go from 12.5 miles one way to 2.5. It's only two miles to a good grocery, library and Target. The biking plan is about to be enacted!

Hubs:
Distance to work, NJ, one-way: 12.5 miles
Days worked: 54
Total miles commuted: 1350
Miles by bike: 0
Miles by Bus or other: 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 1350
Spent on gas: $240
Money saved at $0.30/mile : $0
-He does carpool a co-worker and is paid in free breakfast a couple times a week. I won't count it into the savings but it's an option for those with longer commutes.~

Me:
Total miles driven for errands, appointments, visiting: 500
Miles by bike: 0
Miles by Bus or other: 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 500
Spent on gas: $90
Money saved at $0.30/mile : $0

This will be funny, I'll have to adjust the categories...

Distance to work, one-way: 80 miles
Days worked: 63
Total miles commuted: 10,080
Hours commuted: ~220.5
Money Spent On Gas: ~$1243.20 (rough estimate on 10,080 miles / 30mph * ($3.70/gal) )

Before you start, we're moving back to my house this summer.  One way commute is 4 miles.

I'm also in the 1.5 mile walk category. I occasionally get a lift home which means I probably buy lunch an extra time or two a year but it means I don't own a car at all which has got to be good for the savings score.

===Me===
Distance to work one way: 2 blocks. I can see my office building from the end of our driveway.
Days worked: all of them.
Total miles commuted: 260 city blocks
Miles by bike or by foot: 260 blocks
Miles by bus or other (carpool): 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 0
Money saved:  A lot.

===Husband===
Distance to work university one way: 3 blocks
Days worked: all of them.
Total miles commuted: 390 city blocks
Miles by bike or by foot: 390 blocks
Miles by bus or other (carpool): 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 0
Money saved:  A lot.

Additional note: we have dropped our insurance on our primary car to show 0 commuting miles and only recreational driving, thus saving $300/year on insurance. That was a great 5 minute phone call to make. We also sold our second vehicle, netting $1,200 on the sale and saving an additional amount on the insurance for that car.
Another benefit: I've also lost 12 pounds since moving in December and eliminating the 2 hour/day commute.

I think I'm kinda in a similar boat to Landor n Stella -- my life is typically somewhat designed to be bicyclable, though I didn't really start thinking about this as a big money-saving feature until recently. When we moved here, we lived 3 miles from my work and I biked. Then we bought a house, and it ended up (conveniently) being 0.9 mi from my office -- even better! It's walkable, but I usually bike (and the side benefit is that my door-to-door time biking is actually faster than in a car, because of traffic and parking issues).

We're getting ready to move to another state, and this is also playing a big role in where we'll live. Again, probably it will be within 2 miles of my office.

So, we only have one car. My wife used to run a lot of errands but I had her calculate how much it cost to go to each store, so now her "I'm going to go to the store" threshold is a lot higher and she combines trips a lot more.

Distance to work, one-way: 1.8 miles
Days worked: 59
Total miles commuted: 212.4
Miles by bike: 194.4
Miles by Bus or other: 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 18
Money saved at $0.30/mile : $58.32

Most of the days driving were because of rain or the threat of rain, which around here can go from zero to flash flood pretty fast, so all told, I'm pretty happy with that result. The savings probably aren't quite accurate though, because they don't count the crazy amount of time you can spend circling for a spot since we only have street parking and it's nowhere near sufficient. Even if it goes smoothly, it probably adds an extra 1/4 to 1/2 mile to getting to work (circling with lots of one way streets is even worse). Considering that, and the fact that it's actually quicker on my bike at this distance even though I'm not especially fast - I've paced myself against cars and beat them - biking most of the time is a no-brainer.

Me:
Distance to work, one-way: 10 miles
Days worked: probably 58, when you factor spring break and sick days
Total miles commuted: 1160
Miles by bike: 0
Miles by Bus or other: 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 1160 (this is better when I can bike, aka, not pregnant)
Money saved at $0.30/mile : $0

Spouse:
Distance to work, one-way: 10 miles  (if we didn't have the school schedule, we could carpool more)
Days worked: probably 53, when you factor spring break and sick days and travel
Total miles commuted: 1060
Miles by bike: 240 (this is an estimate, he aims for 40 miles a week, but probably averages 20)
Miles by Bus or other: 0
Miles by personal vehicle: 820
Money saved at $0.30/mile : $72

Personally, I had an epiphany last week when spouse was traveling.  I had a morning dr's appt, and was about to get my kid off to school, drive to work (arriving at 8:35 am), drive to the dr's appt at 9 am (which is...right near my house), drive BACK to work, and I realized how dumb that is.  So now I aim for the earliest or latest dr appt that I can get.  I just work from home before I go to the dr, saving me 30 minutes/ 20 miles of driving.

Distance to work, one-way: 3.3 miles
Days worked: 45
Total miles commuted: 148.5
Miles by bike: 141.9
Miles by Bus or other: 6.6
Miles by personal vehicle: 0
Money saved at $0.30/mile : None (don't own a car)
Money saved in bus fares at £11.50 a week (recently up to £12): £100.30.

Wow, to actually see it worked out is awesome. That's a massive saving over the course of the year and cycling to work takes half the time of the bus thanks to traffic and the awkward route I'd have to take by bus. My money saved factors in the one day I actually took the bus because my knees were killing me. I never thought I would stick to cycling to work, but despite the rain and sometimes cold, it's been well worth it in terms of health and the mood lift it gives me. I hardly ever cycled to uni last year because I would be sweaty and hot, or drenched in rain. If there was no shower at work I'd probably be less inclined to cycle in. I'm thankful I'm training my badassity muscles with that for the day that I work somewhere with no shower and have the money to buy waterproofs or something for cycling

Update:

I now work remotely from home (or rather wherever I am traveling). My commute is precisely one foot (my desk chair literally touches my bed).

Oil and gas yes, oil rig no. Minor addiction to travel? I think so.
