I'm just coming up to the end of a major cosmetic reno on my place, I've had a few wins but this is my favourite one.
The kitchen cabinetry in the before photo was a lovely shade of WW2 combat fatigues, however with the addition of 3mm plastic sheeting and construction adhesive, until you open the cupboards, it's a new kitchen. As far as what I've seen, that's approximately the cost of 1 new door, you might get the hinges with that if you're lucky.
I will be putting edgebanding on when I find a supplier as the hardware stores only supply satin sheen formica whereas this is extremely glossy PVC.
Basically, measure it up, give your plastics supplier the dimensions. Wait till he makes them and get some glue and a caulking gun and stick them on. Highly recommended to take the doors and drawer fronts off as gravity does make them drop down until the glue has dried. I learned this the hard way but used a couple of car jacks and a piece of wood to keep everything from dropping down. That worked too but, seriously, just take them off, it's way quicker.
I had to sand a few drawers down underneath but nothing major and a few tweaks of the adjusting screws on the hinges. A combination square is highly recommended for making sure everything is on straight.
