Alright I know this is a little masturbatory; however, I paid off my credit card debt and need to tell the world!
I have always been frugal. My brothers call me a Shyster because I haggle all the time and enjoy doing so. However, it wasn't until about a year and a half ago when I started reading the hell out of early retirement blogs and books. At some point 12 months ago it clicked and I realized that my hair was on fire with 5k of credit card debt. Some of which had 19% interest.
Last month I paid down all of my credit cards.
I know you guys are going to say "big deal 12 months saving 5k" but realize I also saved another 9k during that time for a house down payment and I have about 8k in the bank for "emergency" and "future Purchases". So really I saved about 22k in 12 months. Very excited.
Like I said this is a little self indulgent; however, I have a shit eating grin on my face that I can't wipe off.
