been using this credit card that lets you send rent checks to landlord to earn 1% back on rent payments (in points)
you open the Bilt card which is a Wells Fargo credit card acct, then the app lets you mail a monthly rent check to landlord the same way you would do it through a checking account with online billpay (with no transaction fees). The rent amount can either be placed on a credit charge and paid on the monthly due date, or drawn directly from your own bank acct without being counted towards the card's monthly credit limit.
Also if your landlord has an online portal that lets you set up direct payment through checking account, the Bilt app can provide a routing number to fulfill payment that way as well.
The only requirement to earning the 1pt/$1 rent is using the card at least 5 times in a month (can be small Amazon credit reloads, $1 gas pumps etc)
points are worth <$0.01 when redeeming for cash, occasional promos give you $0.01/pt for Amazon credit, but the real value is redeeming on travel, where you can usually get at least $0.012/pt on flights (20% discount from airline prices)
my rent is >$4K and I've already cashed in pts from just this year on a round trip cross country flight with pts to spare, so well worth getting the card if you're paying significant rent and earning a flight or two a year with hardly any effort for what you're paying each month anyways
they also have monthly promos for free points, 2x points on all spend on 1st of each month, and other random benefits
