Biked to work for the first time!
« on: August 17, 2015, 07:34:55 AM »
Ever since reading MMM I've been trying to acquire the bicycle bug. Other than a couple rides on trails and parks, I haven't done a whole lot. Two days ago I went for a ride in a park and my friend said it had been over 12 miles. That's when I realized I could definitely bike to work. I normally commute to work with my wife, but she had the day off. Perfect, now I didn't have an excuse not to bike. I certainly wasn't going to make my wife get up from some well deserved sleep and drive me to work, and there was no way I was paying to park. So 10 miles later, and an overnight cold outmeal 2nd breakfast at work, and I feel great. Now for the trip home, working in downtown Pittsburgh means going home is uphill. Here's to frugality.

Good for you! One of the challenges in biking around here is the hills, so I'm also working to overcome those. The muscles in your legs are really burning by the time you reach the top, but man does it feel good.

Nice! Watch out, pretty soon you'll be wanting to bike even on days you don't have to :)

Great Work!  The hills may be a bastard today, but they will get easier.

You may also get the urge to ride even in the middle of winter.  This is a normal response to the awesome experience of biking, you should listen to that urge.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
