Biked to Work!

12.5 miles one way - took 1:10 - exactly as long as Google said it would.  I'm hoping to get that down to under an hour as I get stronger / more comfortable with the speed.

Sweet Deal. That's about 20km. You should look into getting a bike computer. It will track your speed and distance etc. I found it was motivating when I did a long bike trip.

Thanks for the tip - I'll definitely need extra motivation in the summer as here in Tallahassee, it gets up to over 90 pretty routinely!

Good work! Definitely find a way to track and set goals. It definitely helped me get over my brain's initial attempts at talking me out of cycling in the mornings. Also keep an eye out January's Cycling Challenge (it will be posted in Throw Down the Gauntlet) and add your miles there, that has helped a lot of us stay motivated!

If you're in a place where you can do this, try parking your car several blocks away from your house the day before (mine's a mile away, but not by choice). If the car is far enough away, the bike actually becomes the lazier choice! The only reason we ever drive now is if we have to leave the city, and this is a big part of why.
