Ken, you are crazy! 35K is an insane, but extremely respectible distance. Does your bike computer odometer go that high? Or have you been logging the miles using a separate system? Hope you havent hit that # in only a year.

Congrats! That is exquisitely bad-ass.

That's fantastic.

I do about 1300 a year, if you only consider work miles.

How long have you been commuting via bike?

That's a lot of commuting.  I've been told many times on this forum that cycling is extremely dangerous.  How many times were you killed during the 35k miles?  :P

Thanks!
I am at FU money, FI if I wanted to push it. So for the time being I consider myself SWAMI: Satisfied Working Advanced Mustachian Individual. The discipline, mental exercise, interaction, etc at work is great, the pay is excellent, and the work/life balance is usually excellent as well. I have more reasons to stay than leave. I have set myself a maximum of 25yrs corporate work, because that's a quarter-frickin-century and it'll be time to move on.

Asking the question leads to a strong case of survivorship bias. :P

35K is insane, I can't imagine getting there. I do 11 miles r/t so that would be ~3.1K workdays. Insane!

Congrats!

I am at 17 thousand miles, but maybe 40 % are by Ebike.  Still I have saved $50K or more in parking fees and cost of a car ( estimate  13K over last 12 years for the car plus insurance and the rest is the high price of parking in my city).
If I retire in 4 years i will be at 25K or so....

check your calculations.

365 days per year, 52 weeks

365/7days per week then X 5 work days per week = 260.7 working days. Most of us get at most 10 or 11 holidays so unless you work 4 day weeks you should be right at 250 per year.

unless of course you take 10 weeks of vacation.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
