Every day I come by this forum and I read your posts. And we talk about FIRe. We share a few jabs, and a few laughs, and it's great. But you know what the best part of my day is? For about ten seconds, from when I pull up Chrome and when I type in the URL, 'cause I think, maybe I'll hit enter and I'll login and you won't be there. No goodbye. No see you later. No nothing. You just left. I don't know much, but I know that.

Any apprehension or doubts? Nostalgia for the work you're leaving behind? Exhaustion and burnout? Restlessness from too much time on your hands? How are you feeling about your sense of purpose or direction in life, or have you not yet reflected on the philosophical implications?

It's that first month or so after retirement that I most worry about, so I was hoping you could sort of talk us through how it goes for you.

I would imagine his FIRE is a bit different than 'traditional' early retirement, since he was a teacher and this is the start of summer. My wife is undergoing the same transition (as are my kids). It will probably hit him when school starts back up...
