AmEx Blue Cash Preferred - $15 credit @ Amazon

I saw the thread about AmEx's Small Business Saturday and was reminded to share with y'all another potential AmEx perk that I was able to sign up for: Spend $15 or more at Amazon before 12/31 and get a $15 AmEx credit on your next statement.  This was under the "my offers" section at Amazon.  It was the same section of the website that I used to sign up to participate for Small Business Saturday.  With the $15 credit I got some LED light bulbs for my new house!!!

There was another offer on there for Walmart.com and McDonalds (if there are any other Mustachians like me that eat that garbage!).

Love those offers. Mine is not Preferred, because I can't get close to spending enough to break even on the annual fee, and those offers were available for it. I couldn't think of anything to buy from Amazon before the $15 off $15 expires, so I spent it on my gift card balance. As a vegetarian, I too am stumped about how to spend the $5 off $5 at McDonald's. I keep meaning to treat a panhandler, but I'm never solicited when I'm anywhere near a McDonald's, which surely must sell some nutritious items.

I've seen those Amazon offers too.  I used a $20 one earlier this year.  And since you can buy just about anything on Amazon, it's like free money.

Just buy a $5 giftcard, you can then give that away anytime/anywhere.

Speaking of the preferred card, I just signed up for one to get the following perks:

-- $100 cash
-- 1 year Amazon prime membership
-- waived fee first year
-- 0 interest until 2016

The condition is that I spend $1000 in the first three months - easy!  I had $1300 I owed for a medical bill, put it on the card and paid it off with the insurance reimbursement.  Cha-ching!  I'm also going to use it for household expenses in order to get the regular cash back benefits, but already feel ahead of the game.  After using it for a year I'll decide if it's worth paying the annual fee next year.

Thought I'd mention because I believe the promo I got is still going on if anyone is interested.  I heard about it from MMM's credit card hacking page.
