a different kind of free music lesson online
« on: January 06, 2018, 07:20:39 PM »
Hi to the MMM gang!

Any folks (likely 13 to 100yrs)  with some piano playing experience are looking for free online music lessons, our family's YouTube channel: "Opening Bars" selects popular pieces that feature piano and examines (literally) the opening bars   - comprehensive ideas: theory, social context, history, and how to play musically! Find your favourite song and start there. And even people who don't play piano might like the background and tuning of the ear.

Enjoying your own music seems to be a Mustachian move! Enjoy!

Im not trying to sell anything, just sharing - Free online for MMMs with appreciation for all that I have learned here,

This is awesome! I've been looking for a video series like this for some time now, and I've got a couple requests!

My first request is from Schumann's Kinderszenen - Traumerei.
Second is Adele - Someone Like You.

(As an aside, in your Fur Elise video you mentioned Valentina Lisitsa, who's videos were responsible for me picking piano back up a few years ago.)

Cool!!  I don't play piano, but I sure appreciate people who post free musical instrument lessons online.  I have used several videos to learn songs on my cigar box guitar.
