Zip bags

I know this is small beans (just a bean?), but...
More and more things come in zip-top bags now.  And the 'bag's are thicker than actual sandwich bags.  Some are even foil(ish).
But most of them are odd shapes.  And I wouldn't store food in some of them.
I found a good (great?) use for them.
I use them to throw away the fat I trim from a roast and then what I scoop out of the roasting pan.  No chance of it leaking out or attracting bugs.
Now I keep at least one under my silverware tray - taking up virtually no room.

I re-use zip top bags whenever I can. I use them to bring sandwiches and salads to work. DW rolls here eyes when I stop her from tossing the zip-top granola bag. Those bags last a long time.

I'll stop her with "Oh, wait .. that's a good bag, eh". I don't know why, but it's funnier when I say this with my thickest Canadian accent. Now she preemptively apes me as she stuffs the bag into our dedicated bag drawer.

I'm using the coffee cans from Trader Joe's, but your method
takes up less space.
