Let's see how everyone did biking to work in 2013!

I began biking to work February 22, 2013 and my last day biking to work was 12/19/2013.  Basically 10 months.

Total Round Trips to Work (days):  131
Total Miles:  2,567

Taking out vacations, business trips, days I "had to drive" the total number of days I "could have biked to work" are 144, so 91% of the times I could have biked to work I did.

That is totally badass!!  I go into the office <1 day/week, so most of my biking is actually grocery store trips, which I'm doing pretty well at.  The real test is whether I can start taking the girls to preschool in the trailer every day.  Then I will really feel like a "bike commuter". :-)

First year of bike commuting: 650 miles! I know that's not amazing, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I biked every month- thanks to the monthly cycling challenge.

My "commute" is 549 miles one way, so I'm not biking to work!  But my goal for 2013 is to drive only when there is no feasible alternative.  This thread is inspiring me to want to track miles I haven't driven...Today it was 1 mile to the post office and back, and 2 miles to my parents' house and back (I had to help my mom set up YNAB!)

Nice work, everyone!  I have to admit I haven't ridden to work yet in 2014.  I took my bike into the shop over the holiday to get tuned up....3 weeks later still in the shop (needed new bottom bracket bearings).  I know I could've/should've done the repairs myself.  Next time! 

I'm also changing jobs.  This is my last week.  My new job I will be working from home.  So no more commute by bike or car!  I'll have to work in daily rides so I don't go crazy, though!  We will be moving to Seattle in a few months, assuming the new job works out well.  I'm already scoping out houses near the bike path!  Looks like a bike friendly city, with epic MTN bike trails nearby too.

With working from home I plan to pickup/take my kid to daycare in the trailer at least.  About 2 miles round trip.

My non-work or fitness riding is limited by having 3 kids. Need to get off my butt and design/weld a two-row trailer that can fit them all. Otherwise it's the minivan for those days.

I got my bike as part of an early Christmas present, so my trips were just starting out..
Second day out, I got flats in both wheels. It was not fun getting home.. and loses a day to get new tubes.
Dec. 31 I took the car to work to top off the tank and restock at Costco for the new month

Total Milkes Biked: 110 mi. (30 round trip)
Days Missed: 2

I'm just getting the flats out of the way early for 2014!
