Through frugality and mindful investing I have been able to resign from my historical ultra-high stress career - with 6 months of cash reserves and over 4 years of funds (assuming stagnant growth and no change to lifestyle). My non-compete is 90 days - so I am taking (at least) that amount of time off before dipping my toes into a new direction that allows far more time to be spent with my family.
My days now consist of (m/w/f)-
- Kids in the early AM
- Dog walk
- Learning a new programming language
- Dog walk
- Barbel training
- Dog walk
- Scientific Coaching
- Martial Arts training alongside oldest daughter (including a cracked leg!)
- Dog walk
- Kids in the PM
t/th I have been helping my father a bit & separately the Mother-In-Law correct decades of incorrect repairs and deferred maintenance - having already increased her Net Worth by ~25K (all pro-bono).
I've also filled in a few blanks helping out
@mr1500 on hist new house live-in-flip which has been a nice break to the routine.
I'm just as busy as I was when I dedicated my time to making another company wealthy, however the balance is so much more meaningful and varied.
